Well, having a strong sense of humor is not (only) about properly reacting to jokes , but more about self reflecting with humility and not taking yourself too seriously. These being said, drums please

... and let me celebrate the following "achievements" in the art field:

- a special mention for Digital Art, at Art Vue Winter Prize contest, for Flower, one of the pieces from Swans Collection:

- the publication of one of my English poems, in The Journal of Undiscovered Poets, an international poetry journal from Canada.

Many thanks to those that always believed in my artistic talents and even called me "an artist" from time to time :-) . And of course, I wanna thank me :-)

Recomandari de filme

Sunt recunoscatoare pentru toate recomandarile de muzica si filme care se prind de mine (uneori pe repeate, vezi melodia You Already Know a lui August Eve, pentru care ii multumesc unei tinere scriitoare).

De aceea, cand vad/aud ceva care ma incanta, zic mai departe.

Recomand:

- Cunk on Earth. Daca ati experimentat umorul de calitate (pe care unii, elitisti, l-ar echivala cu umorul britanic, dark, sarcastic, nu cel de tip Benny Hill si Mister Bean), stiti ca nu va face sa radeti cu tot corpul ci cu portiuni extinse din creier, rascolind nu vintrele ci materia cenusie, intr-un mod subtil, perfid si rareori "impartasibil" cu ceilalti. Naratoarea e o actrita din "After Death", un alt serial bun, dar sensibil si reconfortant pentru cei cu incredere scazuta in umanitate. Aici, fac un oarece efort de obiectivitate, intrucat actorul principal e si un comic aparent sexist si misogin (sau poate am devenit eu brusc feminista si ma simt ofensata cand Ricky Gervais zice "of, women!" si isi da ochii peste cap...) In orice caz, Diane Morgan (Philomela Cunk) joaca un rol impecabil de... tampita , cum numai unui om destept ii poate iesi. In schimb, tampitii nu sunt credibili decat in roluri de destepti, nu stiu daca ati observat, dar cred ca pe asta se bazeaza teoria carismei, efectul Dunning Kruger si ascensiunea dictatorilor in genere. In fine, merge vazut serialul, are doar 6 episoade, savurati-l cu un ceai si cu persoana preferata (la nivel spiritual, daca sunteti adepti ai disocierii).

- Ca veni vorba de disociere si un vechi sfat in materie de relatii, "sa te vezi cu un tip destept, frumos, bogat dar sa ai grija sa nu se cunoasca intre ei"), la categoria, sa ne amuzam usor, inclusiv cu ceva miscari de diafragma, puteti urmari Alfa Males. Usurel, dar didactic in materie de noutati in psihologia relatiilor. Este vorba de patru cupluri si de masculinitatea "toxica".

- Ceva politically correct, dar care mie mi-a placut, pentru ca sunt un varsator visator la pacea universala, e "You people". Ideea e ca si bunele intentii pot da gres, mi-a adus aminte de "Curb your entusiasm". Altfel, niste specialisti in culture studies s-ar putea da cu parerea mai pertinent. Nah, am vrut sa arat ca am auzit de culture studies... Nu va bateti capul. Filmul e funny si il vedeti si pe David Duchovny... Sigur, nu mai e nici el tanar.

- Am auzit de la oameni destepti ca nu le-a placut White Noise, ceea ce m-a facut sa ma indoiesc de mine, dar m-am gandit ca poate erau obositi sau grabiti cand l-au vazut. Eu l-am interpretat in cheie parodica si am avut si rabdare, pentru ca in aceeasi perioada am vazut si reclamele in care Adam Driver se transforma in centaur pentru Burberry Hero si in mintea mea se suprapuneau imaginile, cel putin in prima ora din film in care nu se intampla nimic (si cautam pe net info despre silueta actorului). Dar tocmai despre asta poate fi vorba: despre nimic, frici inutile, consum (stim ca materialismul este strans legat de teama de moarte), clisee, multe clisee ironizate in film. Mie mi s-a parut interesat, am de gand sa citesc si cartea.

Vizionare placuta! Daca vi se pare interesant topicul, apasati pe inima - cea de pe ecran.

Impressions from Secrets of the Forest Exhibition

Some takeaway, from the participation to my first exhibition in Berlin, were the following (maybe this is any helpful advice for some aspiring artists):

- go to the opening of the exhibition, study the reactions of the viewers

- have a nice presentation material about the collection, the works and the artist . I've done eventually a flyer myself, in Adobe Express (very easy to work with), but I've still returned the result 5 times before "good for printing". Never underestimate the job of the copywriter and the marketing officer dealing with the tantrums of the "client". I was the client and the marketing officer this time and it was an interesting situation, to say at least.

- do not worry about frames, but mind their color, it can make or brake the presentation of your works

- put some realistic prices if you want to sell (see the prices for some similar works for benchmarking), otherwise, set your price and stick to it, you establish your value (unless, as I've said,. you are a product that needs to go off the shelf asap or you starve to death).

- I have loved the theme of the exhibition, the forest and I am happy to see that arts and environment blend together so well even nowadays. For such a long time, a muse and inspiration, Nature is now a subject that needs also protection and a convincing message for support and artists are good at that. Wish a lot of success to all, artists and curators!

That's the flyer, definitely not as good as an advertising agency could have done it :-) They would have insisted on font consistency, for example, but I've chosen speed over perfection this time :-))
