Daca as primi un cadou pentru fiecare data cand mi-am pus aceasta problema sau cand am fost intrebata "ce cadou sa ii iau cuiva", cred ca nu as avea loc de cadouri sub Brad de acum pana la sfarsitul vietii.

De fiecare data raspund ca "a cunoaste pe cineva e cea mai mare dovada de iubire". Cu alte cuvinte, daca il iubesti, nu ii oferi bilete la spectacolul de balet pe care tu vrei sa il vezi ci bilete la meci sau un abonament Netflix sau o cina la un restaurant thailandez. Ce cadou sa iau? se traduce cu Ce ii place lui/ei, ce reprezinta el/ea. Eu nu incep goana dupa cadouri cu o lista ci cu un chestionar. A, si da, de fiecare data trebuie facut acest chestionar, pentru ca oamenii se schimba. Copilului nu ii mai plac pistoalele Nerf, sotului nu ii mai trebuie inca o pereche de casti, mama nu mai mananca dulciuri si tot asa.


Vorbeste-i omului despre el si e cea mai placuta poveste pe care o aude.



Apoi, cadoul pentru cel care are tot, trebuie sa aiba o utilitate de status. Cum e greu de oferit lucruri utile celor care le au deja (de exemplu, un Rolex e ok, chiar daca mai are trei, desigur, nu fix la fel, dar daca iti permiti sa oferi un Rolex, sigur nu esti pe acest blog - dar daca totusi esti, call me for the blue angel section, I have some ideas), mai bine oferi bunuri/experiente care sa arate ca ti-ai dat silinta sa afli ceva despre persoana respectiva. Poti sa oferi o opera de arta, exista galerii in care poti gasi recomandari in functie de buget si stil. Poti sa oferi o fotografie a persoanei respective intr-o rama ok ( nu baroque daca e genul minimalist, nu de plastic daca omul e pro eco). La utilitate de status, o donatie la una din asociatiile care salveaza copiii, animalele, mediul inconjurator, cred eu ca este cea mai potrivita alegere: e ca si cum i-ai spune, stiu ca esti un om bun si nimic, dar nimic altceva, nu te incanta mai mult decat sa faci bine.



Recomandarea mea de cadou pentru cei care iubesc arta, vinurile, matasurile, lucrurile scumpe, luxul, este aceasta: o donatie in numele lor (cat iti permiti tu, desigur), pentru o asociatie caritabila care se ocupa de ingrijirea/educarea copiilor. Pentru ca dintre acei copii, ajutati la timp, unul poate devine artist, creator, iubitor de frumos. Rasplata e nepretuita.

PS. Daca totusi nu v-am convins cu donatia catre organizatiile caritabile, iata cateva intrebari utile pentru a identifica acel cadou potrivit:


  1. cum se imbraca?

  2. ce citeste?

  3. cum isi petrece timpul liber?

  4. cu cine isi petrece timpul liber?

  5. despre ce vorbeste cand nu vorbeste despre munca?

  6. ce cadouri ofera?

  7. ce reprezinta pentru voi?

I didn't know what it meant and I always thought that it was a lack of a clear vocation to pursue more interests. When reading history, I usually came across multi-talented personalities (and it was even difficult to remember all their dimensions - "writer, poet, scientist, archeologist, etc). I was even joking about me (see my description on this website), that I was a fan of Leonardo da Vinci, to highlight that I was aware of the strangeness of my professional bio (there is some creativity in marketing, but not quite the kind of liberty that a writing career offers and I also enjoy painting and I've been working many years in ... banking). The new way of thinking is different: it is good to have a mix of talents/interests because this adds new perspectives to whatever project you build. And I have recently discovered that it seems that the term "renaissance marketer" existed and, by her own declaration (even though you may find various other sources on the internet) it was coined by an Amazon Leader, Rose Jia, Head of Growth Marketing, Amazon Grocery, to illustrate the multibackground marketers that can operate in different areas, bringing all the benefits of the synergies that a variety of domains produces. Her presentation at Adworlds 2022 delivered 8 hacks for dealing with recession. One of them, invest in marketing, especially in recession, to exploit "the silence of the competitors" (gain share of voice), as "an opportunity seen in challenges". Another was, still an investment (visionary thinking, you see :-) ), to develop and hire "renaissance marketers". It was of course, only a coincidence that I have launched my website in the first day of AdWorld 2022, nevertheless, this gave me the chance to present myself properly :-)


What are my top 3 things that I recall from day 1?

  1. It is worthy to invest in participating to global events in such a hype domain. You cannot stay relevant if you are disconnected from "the main stage"

  2. Email is here to stay. Had any doubt?

  3. Find your niche! This is linked also to authenticity.
